Alessandro Improta is an engineering manager at Catchpoint. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer engineering and his Ph.D. in information engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy. Since 2009 he has held a research position with the Institute of Informatics and Telematics at the Italian National Research Council in Pisa. In 2010, he was a visitor at the AT&T Research Labs in Florham Park, New Jersey, working on the discovery of internet link characteristics. His research interests include the internet AS-level measurement and analysis, and the discovery of internet path characteristics.
