Finally this cold winter is coming to an end. New York is getting warmer – and there is no snow to be seen. With that we are releasing our 3rd and last release of Winter 2011.

Here are some feature highlights:

Scheduled Reports :

The ability to schedule and receive email reports for on hourly, daily, monthly, and quarterly. The report includes data from all the monitors we support, like web performance or DNS monitoring, and it also includes internal performance metrics collected with Catchpoint Insight. The feature comes with pre-defined report templates and provides you with the ability to create your own templates.

Recent Errors: New tool for analyzing errors captured by our synthetic monitoring agents. Quick access the waterfall, scatterplot, and performance charts for further understanding of the problem and its impact.

Connections Statistics per Hostname: Enhancement to the Waterfall charts to display the connection statistics of each hostname in the waterfall.

Statistical Charts include Interquartile Range (IQR) for key performance metrics, to help in understand the “Consistency” of a service. “The Interquartile Range (IQR) is the distance between the 75th percentile and the 25th percentile. The IQR is essentially the range of the middle 50% of the data. Because it uses the middle 50%, the IQR is not affected by outliers or extreme values.”

Page Speed Score: Enhanced the waterfall charts to display Page Speed score and present a list of Web Performance Optimization tips based on the score.

Google pagespeed Score

Instant Tests:

You can view the Page Speed Score for webpages, and in addition have the ability to specify the frequency for the frames of the filmstrip.

DNS Monitor Enhancements:

Our DNS Monitoring was enhanced to support TCP protocol for DNS querying in addition to the UDP protocol. The default protocol will continue to be UDP, however you can override it to be TCP in DNS Tests and Instant Tests.

Stay tuned for more exciting features for web performance monitoring!
