Gael Hernandez is the Director of ISP and Peering Strategy at Catchpoint, a leading Internet Performance Monitoring (IPM) company. With over 15 years of experience in the global Internet community, Gael plays a pivotal role in expanding Catchpoint’s global monitoring agent network. His work is grounded in a deep background in edge deployment, network planning, and engineering.

Gael is an active contributor to the Internet infrastructure ecosystem. He currently serves on the PeeringDB Admin Committee and the Program Committee for the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF), where he supports interconnection initiatives, particularly in emerging markets. Prior to joining Catchpoint, he was instrumental in the global expansion of PCH’s DNS anycast network, significantly enhancing its reach and resilience.

Based in Dublin, Gael lives with his wife Niamh and their three daughters—Maeve, Aideen, and Nora.
